s410

Sat Oct 31, 2015 1:24 pm

Hi Guys

been lurking on here for a while and i have recently purchased a 2nd hand aa s410. Deal was 2 good to turn down.

I am not asking how to increase power etc as i already know  . However when i fill to around 160 bar i average around 11.30 ftp but when i reach sweet spot of 120 to 130ish am averaging 12.30ish ftp

Will i be best adjust under 12 ftp at sweet spot and filling to 150 bar so i dont waste gas/pellets

Any advice wellcome

cheers Dave

Id deffo turn it down, even if its just for the time being until you map out your sweet spot over a full charge

Turned it down at 130 bar to 11.84 ftp

100 bar and below averages 10 ftp

Filled to 180 bar averages 10.34 ftp

think am best filling around 160 bar and dont shoot below 100 bar. But probaly not get many shots off

Cheers

Is it a carbine or classic? .177 or .22? And how many shots are you getting from a full charge from 180-100 bar?
Post up a full shot string (rows of ten) and see if anyone csan help you flatten the power curve.
Your rifle might well benefit from a full service and some tweaking. You can do all this yourself quite easily.

If you chrono each shot from 180-100 bar, post them up on here.

Went out earlier for couple of hours. Nothing at all no rabbits think its time to look for new permission any offers

since nothing was out i did a bit of testing i had 160 bar to start and shot down to 85/90ish. Got 70 shots of in total and

60 shots were between 10.98(lowest)and 11.60(highest)

The last 10 shots hovered around 10.50

does this sound about right for a s410 .22 carbine
used jsb pellets 15.9 grain

cheers

Hi,;-

This.....

S410Carbine.jpg
S410Carbine.jpg (151.58 KiB) Viewed 3662 times

...is a full 190 t0 90 bar shotstring from my own .22 Carbine S410. The graph has orange lines that mark the best of the shots (those that are within 1.5 of maximum velocity). This 8.5 fps band is the 'sweet spot' for my rifle and is about 62 shots long. Mine is set to a max of 11.5 ft.lbs with AA diabolo fields as with Bisley Magnums it will be about 11.8 to 11.9

For plinking though all 98 shots really are usable. I just stick to the sweet spot (160 bar to 100 bar) for best accuracy.

Hope this helps.
