There could be other things reducing the power i.e. Spring pressure on firing valve, power adjust screw, but if you are intent on changing hammer and striker rod, the striker rod is loctited in and will require a bit of heat to remove it. Rog

If it has hardened grease, then it hasn't been serviced. Spend a little bit on your investment 8-)

Do people replace the bushes inside the hammer or isnt it worth the effort?
Do people lube the hammer rail at all? Dry moly like Dri-slide?

Hi Peter, price of bushes nearly equals price of hammer, not worth the aggravation, and I don't use any lube on striker rod, just a polish. Rog

Striker and 2 bushes come to £17 so i think it worth buying and new rod is £9 so with a new spring £4.50 the job would be done properly
