help needed-with a freezer!!!

Fri Jun 23, 2017 2:33 pm

can anyone help me with my freezer (sorry `bout this) but I`m at my wits end with the ruddy thing, problem is it keeps `frosting up`, chocked with ice it is & we only defrosted the entire thing `bout 4 weeks ago, dammed thing is 5ft tall, takes half dozen or more kettles of boiling water, ages to defrost and the place is a right old mess when we`re done, what with water & soaked towels everywhere, that`s why I`m so mad  any help guys ee tee see !

If the temperature is OK, then check that the door gasket is sealing properly. Any air leak will cause icing up. It would be more of a frost build up than thick ice.

thanks for that, but this frost turns to solid ice over a very short period of time, I`ll check the seal even though I`m not sure I can sort that (if that`s what it is) but thanks for the input!

some fridge-freezers have a fan between top and bottom cabinets behind a panel. It can get solid with ice and stays solid even after an apparent defrost.

Is it a "frost free" freezer Si?
If so, look at the back, low down, and see if there a small diameter drain pipe leading into a shallow tray, near the compressor where any water given off will evaporate.
Mine was blocked and caused my freezer to ice up similar to yours.
Good luck.
