Squirrel

Mon Jun 19, 2017 7:28 am

Good Morning!

I was chatting to the house closest to the permission I was out shooting rabbits at last week and it appears they have a squirrel problem. I've offered my services to help out ;)

So... Does anyone have any tips on the best way to hunt squirrel (time of day, location, etc?) I've not shot many squirrels in my time and never set out to go squirrel hunting so it's new to me.

Cheers,

James :)

Ask the person who has had the problem. A feeder can be set out in their garden and they can watch it's daily habits.

tough little sods, head shots are the way to go (less meat damage as well, tasty but a PITA to skin)

Neil's got it bang on, plus feeders and a good back stop, out in the woods small objectives ie 32 mm and low mag means you can keep up with them. Rog

...any .25 caliber pellet to the chest will drop them like a sack of taters...especially Polymag Predators.
