Birds of prey

Thu Apr 13, 2017 6:54 am

Had 2 good sightings of rare birds for our area whilst out looking for rabbits.
A male Harrier which unfortunately too far away to say if it was a Hen or Marsh Harrier and a Merlin.
See loads of different birds where I shoot but great to see something a bit special.

You have some ideal land in Lancashire for a lot of birds of prey 8-)

When have you been seeing them.?

Saw Harrier on a very bright mid afternoon.
Merlin was just as the light started to go.
I see a pair of peregrines nearly everyday as they nest where I work , fantastic , but seeing them so often slightly deminishes their uniqueness.
