S510 FAC Chrono results

Fri Apr 07, 2017 11:22 pm

Had a play with my S510 extraFAC over my new Skan chrono today.
The last time I had the rifle over a chrono (Crombo) it performed like a normal PCP, low at the start, then going to a max then tailing off over 30 shots.
Today over the Skan, it was at max at the start and decreased over the 30 shots by about 5 ft/lbs.
I tried it at several power levels and different wieghts of pellets and it did the same.
Is this normal?, any advice appreciated.

Skans have a cult following, but they can be can be tricky to use. Before you do anything, particularly anything expensive, check your gun over as many chronos as you can, and see if this pattern is consistent over all of them.

I'd also check that the gun is filling to it's proper pressure, as what you describe could be caused by the gun having less pressure than you think, and already being on the downward part of the power curve.

Good luck

Thanks Alan, had another go and realised I was only filling up to 180 bar the fist time. I filled to 200 bar and everything is back to normal.
Must have been from the sweet spot down with the 180 bar fill.

Sorry Gnome it's not broken :D :D :D :D
