S410f

Wed Jan 04, 2017 9:40 pm

Hello everyone,

I am thinking of adding to my air arms collection and was thinking about the s410f. Can't seem to find any reference to the F part of the name tho? Anyone help?
Also checked the users manual online and it says the full charge should be around 110 bar??? That seems quite low, given my limited knowledge of a pcp- my .177 hw100 is way more than that.

All help and advice gratefully received.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair or f...... beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man, and give some back.

The F simply means fluted. As in the fluted cylinder cap etc. 180 bar is the ballpark figure to charge to, and top up around 100 bar, although each rifle will have its own sweet spot in the power curve. A full shot string over a chrono will tell you where its at.

The confusion is because the manuals state the "REfill pressure" is 100 to 110 bar, ie the pressure at which you need to refill to 180 bar.

These are extracts from my .pdf version of the manual:-

'The filling pressure of the S410F is 190 bar (2755psi). Filling to a higher pressure will not increase either power or number of shots. Over filling will lower the power and may cause irreparable damage to the cylinder.'

and:-

'Although every gun is slightly different the recommended refill pressure for the S410F is between 100 and 110 bar.'

Thanks everyone...

Certainly makes more sense to me now.
