fitness tips anyone? bet you all wrote me off!

Sat Jul 02, 2016 5:47 pm

I`m posting this in the forum discussion section cos I think there are many members who may
(a) be interested
(b) need the advice -that`ll be me then!
(c) be able to chip in some advice
(d) share their experience & help & inspire us

right then, guess what, I`ve only gone & done it!! yup, high protein diet, cut out most fluffy white foods, bread rice pasta etc, started training every morning for the last week & most of today, body`s aching right now but hey, no pain & all that crap! my problem is probably insignificant to some members cos I`m not really overweight, being whip thin all my life, I put it down to smoking as an adult & I generally ate whatever I liked, it never affected my waistline at all, ever, but now, not sure if it`s middle age spread or the stopping smoking but I`ve a paunch that has me pulling my stomach in now & then out of embarrassment, time do something about it I thought, problem is there`s sooooo much info out there contradicting what you`ve just read or heard, so me, I`m sticking to high protein foods & lots of veg, regular training even if only a half hr before I go to work, working in the building trade I should be able to integrate some excersises in at some point during each day, but it`ll be every day until I`m satisfied, may do a bit of bodybuilding eventually, we`ll see.
if anyone wants to chip in any help or advice or experience, feel free.

Hi there mate, as you are near the loch, why don't you get yourself a sea kayak, I used to take one up there in early spring and pike fish and camp on inch moan, bloody midges were a pain and weather wasn't always great but I still loved it, and you will get plenty of excercise believe me. Rog

And you doubted me, I know you did, well, guess what, I stuck to it
I stuck to the healthy eating plan, although, I haven`t done any weight training, that just bores me, but, stuck in with the diet
lean meat, lots of fruit & veg, lots of fish too,
no processed meat, burgers, sausages etc etc, no bread rice or pasta, no pizza, no crisps (bout the only thing I miss really)
& I, despite not having any weight loss target, just trying to lose an embarrassing paunch, the scales do not lie gents, have lost (drumroll please) 8 kilo`s in 5 months :o
I never knew I could lose 8 kilo`s & still live but, there you go 8-)

Get a bike ... :)
The freedom and the sense of going somewhere under your own steam is fascinating and rewarding.
