Bless her, Jo tries to be independent and stand on her own two feet but sometimes it goes wrong!
This afternoon she called me to say the washing machine won't work, just a week out of warranty. She had decided to check the fuse first, thats ok but what she actually did was remove the face plate/switch front/fuse holder from the wall WITHOUT TURNING OFF THE POWER!!!
She skyped me to ask advice, showed me what she'd done and I nearly flipped. I told her to leave it alone and find a male neighbour to help, she did thankfully. Her friends dad was visiting so he popped round and sorted it. Fuse ok, nothing wrong there because the box she dismantled supplied the bloody boiler! The cause of the "failure" was a tin of hot chocolate, she tidied this morning and pushed the tin up against the switch that controls the washing machine, power off!
So I tactfully pointed out that being OCD about the exact position of a bloody tin was the cause of her problem. Apparently not. It's my fault because I bought her the big tin which hits the switch. Work that one out!
