Molly

Fri Nov 25, 2016 8:25 am

After 6 weeks of baited breath we have decided to have my dog put down. It saddens me like hell, but I must make the decisions.
Molly has got severe pain in her back and joints that have slowed her down to a point that she struggles to walk.
Test after test were carried out to find out why she wasn't eating and nothing showed up.
The poor girl is still happily wagging her tail whenever we greet her,but even after all the pain relief we have for her she refuses to eat. I don't want her to suffer any more.
So sad really, she will be sorely missed.
The vet will be coming to the house as Molly gets stressed whenever we take her to the clinic.
At 9 1/2 years old she has given us so much.

Having a dog is just like having a child imo, it's unconditional love from their end, gutwrenching when we've to let them go, lost our first collie after 15 years, the kids had grown up with her, sad times for all, feel for you Ray.
which breed is she?

Sorry to hear the sad news But you are doing the right thing for the dog 'molly'.
We had one of our dogs put to sleep around 7 years ago, due to cancer  .It still hurts all these years after,,,,,
Now our other one is getting old now 16 years ! & his back legs are going too plus other things like hearing & eye sight are getting very bad too.
The time will come soon I think where we need to do the right thing & put him to sleep.

All the best to yourself & your family.

Hope she has a smooth exit and you and your family find the strength to cope with the loss of a family member. Did she come to Quigly Hollow in Spring this year?

Absolutly gutted for you and your family.
Although Pleased you have the courage to realise enough is enough for her. Never an easy descision.
We are still coming to terms with losing our last dog, which we had for over 21 years. It takes a long time to alter your lifestyle to remember you dont need to go home to see to them,or not using them as an exscuse to leave somewhere.
No consolation to you, but i am feeling sorry for you at the moment.
