WWII jeep restoration

Tue Sep 20, 2016 8:41 pm

I've been working to restore a 1942 jeep for the past 3 years. This weekend I gave it it's inaugural run out. Attached a few before and after pics of the restoration.

Very nice. Is that what they call a sidevalve engine?
By the way, I love the shooting stick in the back. :D

Yep, side valve engine. Had to completely strip it down and rebuild it.

The shooting stick under the cover is a 1943 dated Browning .30 cal - deactivated to pre 1995 standards, so it cocks, dry fires, cycles rounds and can be partially stripped down.

Heavy looking engine block, proof against small arms I guess.
