Very sad news indeed.

I have had the good fortune of spending quite a few hours in Rays company. We have shot HFT together on numerous occasions. I really looked forward to enjoying his company when I knew I would be shooting with him. Ray, like myself, was also a big dog fan. He never once forgot to ask after Buster. Ray was very approachable and had extensive knowledge of all things air rifle related, but, most of all, Ray was a true gent!

I will miss being in Rays company. RIP mate.

Mike.

It would be rather fitting if this years meet might be named the Ray Ross memorial meet given Rays illness and the fact that this years meet is going to be supporting cancer research.

The trophy base name plates could be made to have rays name on them.

Just a thought.

Ray will be sorely missed for his deep knowledge and humour, his reasoned approach and gentlemanly behaviour. This forum is a poorer place with his passing.
the below sounds like a good idea
May I suggest a gone but not forgotten section - did we not have something similar on the old forum?

I would like to see Ray and Phil remembered in there and any others we have liked and loved. I never met the guys but they struck me as real gents.

RIP Ray.

I am so gutted ... I have just returned from the pub where my wife secretly arranged for about 40 of my friends and colleagues to attend a 50th birthday bash for me without my knowledge. Our Mason (Brian) was there with his dog, Mason too. It is so poignant that on the one hand I am so pleased that so many folks turned up and on the other hand, we have this massive loss to cope with. I am in tears ....

RIP, our Ray. :( :( :(
