Los Angeles (& some other states) have put millions of black plastic balls into their water reserve lakes to float & stop water evaporation, it`s reckoned they`ll save millions of gallons of lost water in this- their worst ever drought, & save a fortune as microbes will be greatly reduced (caused by sunlight on the water) ergo reducing treatment required to clean the water, astonishingly simple, but very effective idea!
