want to save some money?

Sat Feb 21, 2015 3:25 pm

make soup!
love making soup, just spent 2hrs making a fresh pot,
that`s us 4 fed (near enough) for the coming week for a couple of hours work with some lentils, stock, veg & a hunk o ham, BUT! don`t tell my daughter, she`s vegetarian (so she thinks) but loves her dads home made soup,
had the odd "dad, this weeks soup tastes funny" never to be touched by her again,
but as long as I don`t overdo it with the meat, she digs in with the rest of us, you should see the look on my two dogs faces when they don`t get a share, honestly, you`d think they`d been brought up on a starvation diet!

Sox & Misty giving it that 'lassie` stare as we dug into my soup on a caravaning weekend.

you can go online for any recipe you like, I`ll pm anyone who wants my lentil recipe & I`d recommend Delia`s tomato soup, which has to be, the best tasting, cheapest, easiest to make soup, I know of!

I regularly make big batches of soup and then freeze it, pour into a sandwich bag in a square Tupperware pot before freezing and then the block of soup can be labelled and stacked.

You can't beat a bowl of Cawl (Welsh soup) especially after a long days shooting.
