They do crop up from time to time.

You could also get the 6FPE version and uplift it to 12FPE.

Thanks all for the advice. Can anyone advise, why are the early models preferable? I have already decided on the .177, but why an early model? I have also found out the target version has a different cylinder. Is it smaller, or why is it different? Thanks

The MK1's are no better in performance than any of the later ones. They have the advantage of a floating barrel but that's about it.
The original "Target" model has the same cylinder as the rest of the S200's, later ones had cylinders with a gauge in the end.
A MK1 should be cheaper because it's older but obviously condition has a big part to play.

I`ve no idea which MK mine is, someone posted a while back how to tell which year using the seriel No, it`s a 2004.
it has the figure 8 band up front but no manometer (gauge), I paid what I believe is the going rate for one in good condition, £300.

absoloutely fantastic air rifle, I get a wee bit miffed when some suggest it`s small (it isn`t) & would suit a lady or junior because it`s so light, this is absoloutely correct, but at full power & devastatingly accurate, Nigel Allen (editor Airgun Shooter magazine) described as good enough to shoot FT or HFT, & the heavyweight of lightweights!

This is the sort of finish I am hoping to achieve with my project!
Can anyone enlighten me with a list of successful improvements that benefit a S200?
My current list includes custom stock; Huma-air reg; silencer; ten shot mag; improved trigger + blade; replace plastic parts for metal.

You've more than likely covered it with what you have listed.

Personally I would stick with the single shot, but that just preference. The S200 is a superb air rifle and is as good as anything else you can buy. If you customise one to suit yourself you will not get your money back but you will have a supreme rifle.

Is there any benefit to single shot then?

How does the conversion on these compare to say, the HW100 loading system?
