I wouldn`t call my Whisper silencer (fitted to my LGU) or Weihrauch (on my S200) 'short' although they`re both very effective, perhaps a shorter rifle or barrel might be the answer?

aye up chris, hows things mate ??
i've always found the noise of springers to be more ''mechanical'', rather than ''muzzle'', and while a silencer may shut the muzzle noise up, the mechanical noise is just as loud. luckily the sound doesnt usually travel far, so it may be an idea to get someone to fire the gun while you listen from a short distance away, you may be surprised ;)
i think the key issue with shooting in the garden is the noise of the pellets hitting the target/backstop. shut that up and i reckon you're sorted.
