Leapers are pretty good value for money.

I had to say I like the MTC's very good value for money but having just gone to a Sightron SIII 8-32 i'm totally sold on the worth of the pricier scopes.
I'd certainly say try to put a bit more into the scope you buy , I worried about the cost for weeks but I'm soundly glad I spent it.

Now I'm the opposite, I think scopes (even cheap ones) have come on leaps and bounds in the last 20 years, I don't think 'cheap' optics are particularly nasty anymore. Right now I've a Nikko Sterling Game King and a Hawke Eclipse, both che apish but good scopes. I've had Zeiss and Leupold in the past, yes they are excellent, but IMO not worth the large difference.

I have to agree that even lower price scopes are good at what they do. I think the top end scopes win out on optical clarity and ease of use. The turrets on the sightron are much smoother to use than my mtc's and are far more repeatable. If I go from 30 yards to 50 yards and then return to 30 the zero is the same with out any errors.
Glass wise even at full power the target is pin sharp as is the entire field of view the other thing I noticed was how crisp the reticule is, not that the MTV's isn't its like the difference between a sharp knife cut and a dull knife cut. For longer range target shooting that can make a big difference, having saidcthat my old weaver T36 has a very fine cross hair and that's better than any of them.
