for all too read and understand

http://www.snh.gov.uk/docs/A1481522.pdf To kill or take certain birds for the prevention of serious damage to livestock, foodstuffs for livestock, crops, vegetables and fruit

http://www.snh.gov.uk/docs/A1481559.pdf To kill or take certain birds for the preservation of public health, public safety and preventing the spread of disease
It is unwise to train a dog to pick up corvids unless you are absolutely certain that the bird is dead. Corvids and particularly the crows can turn and go for the eyes of animals. Helpless sheep are regularly blinded by pecking corvids before the feast begins.
Permission - do you have written permission to be on the land with guns? Verbal is not often enough to cover you. It is so much easier to be able to show authorities a written document proving your right to be there.
Before you go posting on a public forum you really do need to know where you stand legally on all aspects of your sport – the antis are waiting to pick up on posts like yours. The moderators would be wise to remove damming posts. Unfortunately it is airgunners who most often bring the shooting fraternity into disrepute, the constant reports in the press back this up and given that you are in Scotland where airgunning is really under scrutiny I suggest you need to take greater care"

It's worth pointing out that there are different "General Licences" for England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

I have read and am aware of my responsibilities when out with my gun, but I would have thought that it was possible for us to post the legalities in plain English! For many people the legal speak the laws are written is confusing or in words they can easily mis-interpret. I agree that we are being watched esp those in Scotland and need to ensure we keep safe at all times, so can we have a posting headed the 'Law and You' or similar all in plain umbiguous words?

You've just given yourself a job! Statute law by definition will always be written in legalese, that's why there are so many leaflets issued by government departments to assist the layman. Perhaps the BASC site will reveal some plain English - if not, put your translator's hat on.

I also have read and understand my responsibilities, I have no live round or pyrotechnics in my possession. Sir. Oh God that takes me back to basic training.
On a more serious note...
Thanks for post but the Welsh link is not responding. Just so you know.
