It's not a straightforward swap unfortunately, HW seals won't fit on the TX or PS piston without an adapter. Fitting it will take off some stroke length at the same time.

Could be worth looking at the Jim Maccari seals.

hi , are you finding your new tx not grouping very well , some times it can be the scope , if the rifle is a good one it can show up the scope if the scope has any faults,
are you at dolphin today ?

Hi mate yes I was down dolphin this morning 700 pellets in now and the groupings have started to come in at 40 yd really well so some of the Flyers are down to me and recoil but I am a lot happier than I was but I have still decided on investing on a tinbum drop in kit and also one of his short stroke kits with the hw seal so I can play with the balance of things if all else fails it can always go back to standard so no harm done I will post the results as I go on .stokie99

I've been playing with a TbT short stroke kit in my TX for a week or so now, gun already had the drop in kit, found (as expected) power dropped off after fitting S/S kit, added some washers, still couldn't get it up to 11ft lbs. stripped it again, added different combo of washers, ( now getting very hard to cock, and get trigger block bolt back in) chrono'd again, couldn't believe it, dropped to under 8ft lbs.
Will play with it again later this week, could it now have become 'springbound' ? Do I need a MK2 or after market spring ? Any ideas please.
Thanks

if your spring gets too compressed it will just get coil bound ( hard to cock or will not lock ) also there is only so far a spring can move fast against the compression chamber and the exit hole , the spring can get over compressed and also put strain on the trigger locking up stage, this will make the rifle shoot hard and vibrate unless you can open up the port hole just right for the stroke ( not some thing i would do )
put it all back to normal and try to make it all a smoother shot would be better and easer for getting on the target ,

Email Nick, I think you may need to lighten the piston to get the best of the short stroke set up.

I believe power in a springer is derived to a large part to the swept volume of the piston in the cylinder. A shorter stroke results in a lower swept volume. Increasing the preload on the spring will make a more harsh shot cycle with little improvement in power.
