S510 advice required

Hi all
being new to air rifle shooting I have a couple of questions for you.
1. what oil should I use for cleaning, I bought some C&H gun oil from my local gunsmiths.
but their shop is geared up for shotguns so I'm only using it to wipe down the outer after use as I don't want to damage o rings etc..

2. pellet choice for my s510, I'm currently trying out AA field and JSB exact jumbo. as they seem to be a popular choice with my model of gun.
Are there any others I should try out, and are there any lower cost pellets that give decent results (probably not I suspect).

Thanks in advance.

I just use Ballistol, I buy it from Uttings, and I use AADF 4.52 .177 & 5.52 or the Diablo Hunters in .22. Rog

Both the jsb an AA are 5.52. I plan to do a side by side test this thursday at the range.

I guess my real question about the oil is. Is the oil i have bought safe to use on bolt mag port etc.

I just use Ballistol.
As for pellet choice I am afraid its going to be trial and error. What works in 1 gun may not work in another. That said I use only AAFD 5.51( after a lot of tests ). If I use AAFD 5.52 I lose the grouping at approx 20 yards for some reason.

I'm not allowed to use Ballistol because (the wife thinks) it smells of boiled up bones and liquorice. An acquired taste. (I keep the rifle in the spare room.)
Napier Power spray smells of a tarts boudoir which I seem to get away with!
They both come highly recommended.

I mut admit I have never experienced the aroma of liquorice and bones being boiled up, as for a tarts boudoir well that would be telling!
The C&G gun oil smells of hospital antiseptic, well it does to me!
