If I was you I would swop riffles with your mate. You will soon see there isn't much in it 8-) . Most of the noise is down the butt into your lug hole

It,s not what you can hear that matters. It,s how much sound that travels down range that is important. dave

thats exactly where its at dave ;) a rabbit can hear you if you brush against a leaf, so it wont have any trouble hearing your gun, unless you hit it :)
a good silencer or ''moderator'' is not the quietest, but one that disperses the sound so that the quarry cant determine the location it came from.
its not uncommon for rabbits to stay put and sit up looking around, when they cant quite figure out where the noise of the shot came from.
the sound of the pellet hitting the rabbit is the same no matter which silencer you use ;) ;)

I have made many silencers over the years. There is a bank of weeds that run along the side of where i shoot. I found that the best way to test different silencers was to see how near i could shoot to the rabbits with out spooking them. This is out to fifty meters. At between 30 to50mt a GOOD silencer will allow pellets to impact within a few inches without the rabbit bolting. dave.

Use an Air Tab and the pellets go supersonic. Only one though.
