Well, I need to find something to cover it then. I'm not going to work with that :). I'm thinking something pink :).

Its not radioactive. Just dont drink it. It's been used by woodworkers for centuries. Ebay again.

Plasti Dip paint. If you dont like it you can peel it off again.

Looks interesting! Anyone has tried on a airgun stock? Going to search...

right, well, here we go then, problem with staining Pedro (as if you didn`t have enough to deal with!) is the forward stain looks brown (ish) in the pictures, but those further back look blue to grey, this is a major PITA coz you`d be trying to match 3 different colours (3rd being the actual stock colour) which, quite honestly is not gonna happen, not with stain anyway, so, options, well, paint is the easy one of course, dipping if you can find anyone to do it properly would probably be my choice, there is another, but, it`s very very difficult to get right,
self adhesive wood effect
now, getting this stuff to fit around shapes is a nightmare, so, why mention it you`re thinking, because,- if you look around the web there are some really tasty wood effects out there that would make that stock look like a gun costing 100x`s what it actually cost, https://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2FLGNYWF_BWos%2Fmaxresdefault.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DLGNYWF_BWos&docid=Ba_gxVW7h3Y2pM&tbnid=hM9MWzIvVr6tBM%3A&vet=10ahUKEwj9-LLXgcbVAhXBK8AKHeISClwQMwgyKAwwDA..i&w=1280&h=720&bih=752&biw=1486&q=self%20adhesive%20burr%20walnut%20effect&ved=0ahUKEwj9-LLXgcbVAhXBK8AKHeISClwQMwgyKAwwDA&iact=mrc&uact=8
or https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=imgres&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiYqLvygcbVAhVEuxQKHbjeAOYQjRwIBw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DMtAnn4f39NY&psig=AFQjCNGm2I-a2EA6gbV25yc0DPqYpxMNFQ&ust=1502225949881451
either of those would make that wee rifle look a million bucks, & well worth the effort IMO.

if anyone out there does car wraps, those guys are used to `Wrapping` around odd shapes, & they can print just about anything you care to imagine

Well thanks for the suggestion :). I really don't think I can apply that the proper way :). I'm not very handy on wood working.. The most I've done is using some paint cans to paint stuff :).

But first the mechanics and then the aesthetics :).

Electrolysis Works!

Sat Aug 12, 2017 9:52 pm

So today I tested the electrolysis again, now with an old battery charger.

It seems to work! after 4 hours the part I testted seems almost rust free. I'm letting it in the electrolysis bath till tomorrow morning to see.
