Tx200hc in 22 accuracy??

Sun Mar 15, 2015 8:55 pm

Hi guys my tx is 1 week old from new and at the moment I have tried AA and JSB and to be honest the groups arnt the best ,not bad at 30yd but crap at 40 yd but I realise I'm trying to find the right pellet and run the gun in at the same time ,what's the general rule of thumb for running in ? 500 ,1000 pellets I have just got ultra magnums which are lighter but haven't tryed them yet ,so far from new it's had about 400 pellets through it the power seems to be going up and down a bit between shots ,any input would be welcome cheers stokie99
Ps I have cleaned the barrel. :D

With any spring airgun before they are going to give perfect groups you have to run the gun in.This normally takes around 1000 pellets. , my tx started like this but gradually got better. Before you get concerned fire some more pellets through it and it should get better :D

try Falcon Accuracy Plus. they are made by JSB but of a lighter weight. this should sweeten up the firing cycle. All spring/piston rifles will be hold sensitive. it may be teaching granny to suck eggs, but hold it lightly and let it do what it wants to do on recoil.

i use aa field 16gm on all my .22 and aa field 8.4 on all my 1.77 i find them very consistent weight out of the tin,
also always a nice fitting ,
if you change pellet types it will take a bout 10 -20 shots of the new, to let you know if the new type are getting better results with that pellet,
too light a pellet will give more vibration , to tight longer follow through , i find aa 16gm are a very good start point as i always end up staying with them,
springers are very hold / shot sensitive , the pellet weight and sizeing will change the whole way the rifle wants to be held and shot and you will find it easer to stick with a mid weight good pellet and learn to hold / shoot / consistent with your rifle ,
you will find after a few times things will come better and better as you will start to hold in the same way every time,
take all your shots supporting the front stock 2 inches in front of the trigger guard this will put more weight on the barrel end ,

Hi all
Ay up Stokie99.

I've also just started to run a TX200 in, this one is a .177 and I'm using super dome pellets cuz they're cheap.
I can only get upto 28yds distance, I think I'm happy so far and really love the TX but the grouping understandably isn't great.
certainly compared to my BSA ultra .25 using Bisley super-field which to be fair I can put 6/10 pellets on top of each other at this distance.
I am sure that alot of my own technique with a spring rifle is needing to be brushed up, along with getting the TX run in

I'll keep updating as to how this progresses

do not clean the barrel , its new , you need it to start to coat up with the lead , how did you clean it ?
pick one sort of pellets and just keep shooting until you get the same feel with a good grouping , do not forget to follow through with every shot ,

I think he might have meant that he cleaned the barrel after buying it.
