Hi all...

I bought my first Air Arms today; a second-hand S400 Classic with thumbhole stock. Very pleased with it, and will be using it for target shooting at the range. Many years ago I did competition air pistol, but rifle has really caught my attention this time.

I'll need to buy a case, and was considering this: http://www.seriouscountrysports.com/en/ ... -1251.aspx

Any advice much appreciated. Oh, and has anybody carried a case on a motorcycle? I was hoping to add to the Flambeau to clamp it to the bike's luggage rack...

Cheers!

good case mate or you could get a rifle slip soft case, I would say the hard is over kill unless its getting banged around,

It will be a beggar to fit in a hatchback. Smallest foam lined slip I would get.

Glad to see you made your way on here. Can we expect to see your S400 screwed to the side of a two-wheeler by way of an image? Hope so.

I have a very similar Flambeau hard case(sp?) but mine is slightly more tapered at one end, they are good quailty cases. However, a Soft case would probably be smaller though if carrying on a bike, you could maybe also try wrapping it in something, (sheet, large towell, etc) to try to disguise it. In these days where everyone is suspected of being a terrorist, its probably not a good idea to wander around with a rifle, (even an air rifle).

You are perfectly entitled to carry your rifle in your car, on your bike, etc if you have a valid and lawful reason to do so, eg: you are going to (or from) a range, hunting ground where you have perrmission, or a gun dealer, etc. But obviously being as discreet as possible is always helpful. You should also make sure its not loaded, carry ammo separately if you can and locking the case or gun (trigger lock) etc also looks good if you get stopped.
