HFT 500 Silencer

Fri Mar 31, 2017 7:24 pm

Firstly can I say hi. I think I was a member of this forum some years ago when I had an EV2 but the membership probably lapsed so I’ve re-joined.

Mobility problems these days pretty much restricts me to back garden shooting. Therefore peace and quite are the order of the day. I’ve sorted the pellet trap out with 3 bars of plasticine and thats working fine, problem is the rifle, I have a HFT 500 and would like to fit a silencer (Q-Tech would be nice). Barrel adapters are plentiful but with the cylinder extending beyond the barrel there’s not much room - has anyone fitted a silencer to a HFT 500?, if so which one.

Thanks
Brian

Rowan engineering do an adaptor specifically for a HFT500

another option is swop the HFT500 for an Ultimate sporter .. if some one was perhaps selling one on here ;)

I use a Weihrauch moderator on the Rowan adaptor without any problems when I don't want to annoy the neighbours. The only thing is, it makes it a hell of a long gun!

Thanks guys, I spotted the Rowan Engineering adaptor after posting. Looks like that and a Q-Tech or HW should fit OK. I take the point about the length of the rifle but worth it to keep the peace.

Don't know much about HW silencers, is one model better than another?

Just make sure the moderator has a sloped shoulder, or it won't clear the filler cap (I think they warn you on the Rowan site). The Q-Tec looks ok.

I find the Weihrauch silencer very good, but I've never done any tests to compare it with others.

Thanks Alan,

The Rowan Engineering adaptor has arrived and fits perfectly flush with the plastic filler cap. Decided to go for a Q-Tec, should be here next week. I'll have to change my board name to whispering Jack Smith

PLASTIC filler cap  :o I hope not: at the price of an HFT 500 - I'd be whimpering Jack Smith 8-)
