For me I hate plinking, more than 10 shots and I am bored!
Having the HFT gave the weekend some focus for me, it was only a couple of hours on the Sunday morning. And it introduced a lot of people to HFT which can be no bad thing.

I also liked the different venue every year as it meant different people can make the meet as well as the regulars.

I agree with pretty much everything Brian has said, the meet as far as I know isn't really advertised outside of the forum.
This goes for the new version of the forum, I am sure there are loads of members of the old forum that are still not aware of the changes.
A lot of the old members that I know no longer shoot and have other interests. My life is a million miles away from where it was when I joined the AAOC, and I am sure most peoples lives have changed in the 10 years ish the AAOC has been going.
I think a being a bit proactive would help and maybe a revamp of the forum to reflect the old one may help. My offer to help if I can still stands.

I can't make the whole weekend, in a choice between 3 days with a lovely lady or a long weekend of sleeping rough, pot noodles and a dodgy thunderbox I think I'll go the route of maximum pleasure and comfort. I do intend to call in for a day though and introduce Jo to a bit of plinking and enjoy a bit of banter.
