Walter Mitty

I just love these threads on other forums!
Someone returning to shooting after a 4 year break buying an HW springer in .177 and instantly getting 1/4 inch groups at 57 yards!
WOW! I'm obviously bloody useless, I'm giving up shooting the PS and S200 and going to take up knitting and bowls, then sit in my armchair and reminisce about the old days when I could light matches at 50 yards with a catapult made of knicker elastic.

50 yards with a knickers elastic catapult ,taking into account your cross eyes that was some super shooting.

It was easier than you might think, Ebo ... Edna's knicker elastic was 50 yards long in itself ... and that is just the thigh hole. 8-)

next week you'll have to read about his 1st hunting trip tim  i reckon there'll be some long range kills involved :D
dont think he'll break the records just yet, but i reckon an 83 yd rabbit, 86 yd woody, and a 91 yd (lasered) crow are on the cards 8-)
just for the record, the best long range shots i've read about on forums with sub 12 are, rabbit 104 yds, woody 116 yards, and a very impressive 129 yd crow 8-)

got to be the top post of the year so far. 129 yards, I think he did not want embellish too much :D , as 130 yards sounds way out! I'm quite happy shooting tin chickens at 55 yards. :D

poof, that's not shooting, took one of the local trainee vets down to one of my permissions, he was making crows explode at 150 yrds (admittedly that was with a hmr and yes, the place is cleared for fac)

Must be a misprint. He meant to say .22 and he's shooting 1 shot groups. I forget what was being shot, but could this be the same guy that shot standing in a ditch and propped on a fence post? That thread was a real good one.
