there`s booger all wrong with MDF, factamondosie boys, as long as it`s kept indoors &/or sealed correctly it`ll last forever, now, you can get/start with moisture resistant MDF or seal the ordinary (cheaper) stuff with waterproof PVA then paint any colour you like, over it. now, it`s time for a couple of MDF factoids you probably didn`t know,
ahem, as there`s no grain, splits, knots & it`s completely smooth, decorators love it.
it`s been banned for commercial use in the You ess of eh for donkeys years, the dust can be a major pain to eliminate.
Cardboard-Hardboard-MDF-HDF (that`s laminated flooring BTW) are all roughly the same basic ingredient simply crushed to different levels of density.
if I can control the dust output, I`d use it for some tasks over other more traditional materials no hesitation, some folks bad mouth it as a cheap alternative to these traditional materials forgetting that these are the cheap alternatives to solid timber in the first place!
right, Sundays rant taken care of, bring on Monday, & remember if one of you mentions football, it`ll get nasty!

you can buy a pair of folding workbenches stronger than that one, but almost identical on ebay for £16 that could be modified easily, £164, BD, you have got to be joking!

Good point. Going to pick up some wood from the yard in the morning and have a go at building this one from BBF's post.
