Txhc scope

Hi guys getting a tx200hc very soon but what scope to top it off with because of the loading port I was thinking of a hawk varmint but I'm not sure of the length any ideas out there guys cheers stokie99

also you have a hw98 is it twangy , ive ordered a timbum kit to see if it helps get rid of the twang ,

I use both scopes mentioned. The MTC is a lot longer than the hawke. I do like the MTC admit works very well on one of the rifles but I had a hawks on a s200 that I just bought. OK not big money but in truth, I'm rather impressed with it.

I feel this thread begs the question " What are you going to shoot with your TX200?" I use predominately 4x40 scopes yes they are fixed power scopes and I know I'm an silly old man for doing so. In case you are wondering why such low magnification, I use my rifles for hunting deer, rabbits, squirrels and rats, and I can honestly say I've never missed one of the above because I could not see it. What I do need is the ability to see my target in poor light around dawn and dusk and you can't do that with a scope with a lot of magnification unless you are going to spend over £1000 on your scope. I definitely don't want any extra weight that big variable scopes bring to the party. For shooting pigeons and corvids a little bit more magnification would be nice and there again for competitive target shooting depending on competition probably a lot more will be an advantage. If you are going to be shooting bench rest competition weight is an irrelevance.

I have a TX200 and have now put a AGS 16x56 on it, another fixed power scope, for use when I require that level of magnification but I don't like the weight of this combination for general use. My general purpose air rifle is an Air Arms S410 with a Hawke 4x40 scope on top, a light weight combination but I may go to a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 because it is not being used at the moment and it only weighs a few ounces more than the Hawke and is very good during the crepuscular hours.

But may I ask what are you going to shoot with your TX200 and at what time of the day also is weight going to be a problem or an irrelevance for you. To my mind these are the questions you will need to ask first before you worry about which manufacturer's scope you should buy. That is the easy part, buy the best scope you can afford with the magnification you require.

Hi mate I was asking the question about scopes on the tx because of the length over the loading port being in the way weight would also be a factor because the tx is already a heavy gun so things like a viper would be to heavy magnification wise I am looking for 12x 40 or 44 I feel 50 is to big and I hate ao scopes I am a sf man and the final question is a general all rounder from bunnies to targets cheers stokie99

the tx is always going to be heavy , but some times putting more weight on the back can help the pull down of the front barrel weight , ( WHEN STANDING )
ive had a 50 on my tx that over hung the loading chamber and you can still load it from the side but it is a bit fiddly,
you will have to measure some up to see what fits, go to dolphin they will let you put the scopes next to your rifle to see if they look ok etc.
