Due to the design of the TX port you can mount a scope very close to the receiver and totally over the port. The port is more on the side of the gun unlike the HW 77/97. I have zero problems loading my TX and I swapped it's scope and mount over to a 97 and there was no way to load. Now, if you have super gigantic fat fingers you may struggle. Practice loading is the best way to get better. I use a Bushnell 4200 Elite 8-32x40 with it's sunshade for my FT shooting.

i did notice on my mk2 tx the pellet loading hole has been lightly reseated so loading is very easy compared to my mk3 which is a bit of a sharper hole,
on another rifle i had a polished the pellet hole out with a pencil with i bit of autosol on the end , just pretend you are trying to start a fire , rubbing it in your hands , it will polish the hole up nice and the pellet head will slide in easy , but that was a break barrel,
you will have to cut the pencil small to get in to the tx,

Hi mate I was asking the question about scopes on the tx because of the length over the loading port being in the way weight would also be a factor because the tx is already a heavy gun so things like a viper would be to heavy magnification wise I am looking for 12x 40 or 44 I feel 50 is to big and I hate ao scopes I am a sf man and the final question is a general all rounder from bunnies to targets cheers stokie99[/quote]

Ha, I now understand your problem, FPoole has your answer. I too have mounted my AGS 16X56 over the loading port and I now load by holding the rifle on it's side, that gives you just enough room to reload I have found, as FPoole said in his post. If you want quick reloading I would not suggest a HX200 for the job with or without the scope covering the loading port.

I fail to see where a hawke 4-12-50 ao ir is to big for the gun?,there's at least 50 mm clearance from the end of the scope to the loading port, and it certainly don't look out of place,I've seen bigger scopes on a tx that are bigger than the hawke ,it's a personal thing a scope ,don't just buy a scope because someone else has got one, look through it on the gun,get the scope that does what you want it to,and the features you will use,and get some quality mounts, We have all got different eyes, just my thoughts on it that's all, :D

Hi mate it was a 16 mag x50 hawk sport ao and on my hw98 it looked like complete overkill so I sold the hawk and replaced it with a bsa contender same mag only 40 instead of 50 and half the size I do like hawk scopes especially the varmint and sorry but I don't buy things because other people have them I only spend money on what I prefer I was just asking for people's opinions that's all atb stokie99

i was after a cheap scope for a rifle i was selling a few months back ( as it had no scope on it ) any thing would do as there was no iron sights,
ironic as the week before a gave 3 scopes away 4x4 4x4 3-9 cheap ones that we usually end up with .
most of my scopes are good ones mamba lite 4x16 44 hawke 6x24 etc #
but i needed a cheap scope for this rifle , so in to my local gun shop :
( have you got a cheap second-hand scope any thing will do )
no we do not bother with the cheap second hand scopes as ones no one wants them , ( yes me )
all we have is this one , it was on a new rifle but the new owner wanted a better one, it is new ,
how much £25 . i will have it , what is it ,
bsa 3-9 fixed ,
i went home and put it on the rifle ( ho my god its great for the money ) so clear , not much different in mag to a top 3-12
so i kept it to put on one of my other rifles , then had to go looking again for another cheap scope,
just goes to show , top brands and big scopes are not always the only scopes , have a look through them all for your self.
