He was a member of the old forum, here's his fitting instruction video:-

There are many other videos on his you tube channel on regulators.:-

Probably one of the best regulators on the market. Phil Crampton of the Rat Works is an official fitter and tuner of Robert Lane Regulators and fitted one to my Webley LiteW8. Robert puts plenty of you-tube video's on his site to look at if you are doing it yourself. You can always contact Phil Crampton for any advice. He will fit one and tune it for around £100 extra, which takes the worry out of venting the air cylinder yourself. You should get good results either way.

I noticed on the videos guys you had to cut the firing pot down for the reg. But I always thought the firing pot held the air for the anitial shot so what would happen if you cut that down.

The reg holds the air for the initial and subsequent shots, it replaces the firing pot at a regulated preset pressure.

Hi guys I have just fitted my regulator today but will have to wait for testing until I get to the gun shop to get my cylinder refilled has you guys know once your cylinder is empty it has a shut off valve the only way to open it is through a cylinder and I only have a stirrup pump. So once I get it refilled I will post my first test fire 10 shots crono' then I will do a proper test string through the crono, all be in well, everything will be A ok. The install was pretty straight forward I went through it with ease has I took my time measured checked then double checked every single step so I did not miss anything or ended up making a mistake. I drilled my port hole perfect took all the bare away cleaned inside of cylinder then used the silicone gel put some inside the cylinder and around the regulator seals and then pushed down the reg to the distance I had measured to go into the cylinder I then cut down my pot to the correct size to the standoff valve measure once that was done turned the cylinder upside down so the pot was facing upwards and put the standoff valve measurer on top then screwed cylinder back together once that was completed I then put the rifle back together job done. Good build by me and good reg by Robert lane. 8-) m

Well done Jon,
you have more "bottle" than me mate
my "sphincter" would be twitching...(Half crown - sixpence), with the thought of drilling through expensive bits of metal.
Can't wait to see the results :D

Yes I can honestly say I was abit worried but I am good on the drill press my father has I did engineering for a few years so can hold my own. But i was abit worried incase I didn't get it in the right position after drilling the hole. Or leaving a bur from drilling which would cut the seals but it went all fine and to be honest it is really quite an easy job as long has you take care and make sure you do everything in the right order. I have just been and had the cylinder filled and there was no leaks so the jobs a good one just needs testing was going to do it today but with the rain I don't know now but will post my results ok and thx for the comment grandadg.

Good luck with it mate. ;)
Like others have said above I'd be nervous drilling into the gun, even more so knowing that AAs have a saftey feature where the end nozzle fails with high pressure (as far away from your face as possible as well). Drilling into your gun may offset that saftey feature - but I'm no expert on regs.

Would have been nice to do a shot-string before regging to see the curve and shot-by-shot variability. Good luck with it ;)
