TX200 HC pin or screw

Thu May 28, 2015 5:23 pm

On the underside of the barrel shroud on my TX200 HC is a pin or screw, about 30mm forward of the action. It's protruding and marking the cocking lever.

If it's a pin, can I tap it in so that it's flush? If it's a screw, can I screw it in so that it's flush? It doesn't appear on the exploded diagram in the manual.

I believe you will find that it is a cone point screw, usually in with some loctite, mine are just a touch proud of flush.
Julian (bgaltd on here) is the parts guru and will be able to confirm the exact part detail / no. for you.

Following the diagram & parts list it should be this
item no.: 58
part no.: TX237
description: M3x3 Sock Set Cone pt Screw

Hope this was helpful.
Happy shooting.

Thanks all,

Tried a 1.5mm Allen key but it was a bit loose and the screw wouldn't budge, so I'll cut my losses and leave it rather than b****r it up.

It will need heating up first as it should have loctite on it, if you were near here I would happily do it for you. 30 second job for a gunsmith.

Thanks for the tip, but I think I'll leave it. After all, it's only a mark on the underlever that's out of sight anyway. I'll just have to accept another bit of sloppy AA engineering on the TX.

AA have, rather obviously, a super resource here for at the very least their Marketing and R&D functions. One must assume that they monitor the forum regularly, do they ever get engaged with replies / acknowledgements (of course not steering things here)?, ever ?
