Ultra SE, S200, brocock contour 6 shot ...

Thu May 28, 2015 9:23 am

I love the compact guns that why I've gone an
bought a TX 200 HC that is now shooting spot on.
And will be a keeper.

I'm looking at getting my self a small compact PCP
purely for shooting in the prone position from a bipod
so I can get to the rabbits at 40 plus yards.

Any way I have narrowed it down to three rifles the
BSA Ultra SE, Air Arms s200 or the Brocock contour 6 shot.
what would you choose.

If your going to be shooting from inside a vehicle then go for the Ultra. If you not then go for the S200.
Rifles can be too short. The S200 is a proven performer, well made and will do the job.

I have no experience of the Brocock so won't comment.

this is kinda where I get a wee bit miffed! you included an S200 with an Ultra se & Brocock contour, fine, try them out, I`ll be surprised if the S200 doesn`t win out UNLESS, you stick to your stated criteria- a small compact rifle!
the 200 aint small or compact, with my silencer fitted mine is around 40", without it, the Ultra is still 5" shorter & the Brocock is almost 10" shorter!
IMO the BSA is a stunner to look at, but, is flimsy the right word? I`m not sure. both the se & Brocock (at 27") would probably be amongst my choices for confined space shooting, an S200 would not!

the s200 is not the smallest rifle but it is very "pointable" for want of a better word
if you do buy a s200 you will not be disappointed.

Looking again at the original post.
"shooting in the prone position from a bipod"
"rabbits at 40 plus yards"

Of the three choices mentioned by KeithS I would have to vote again for the S200 :D

my thoughts too, shooting prone position at 40+ yds I wouldn`t be looking at a small compact rifle as my first choice (hence my 177 LGU) but, I hafta say, if either of these-200 accepted-works at those ranges better than keiths` TX, high praise indeed!
many members have posted groups & how they can shoot plastic spoons in complete confidence with their TX`s & PS`s way beyond 40 yards, you might wanna try your own gun & save yourself a few quid-just a thought!

I wouldnt discount the brocock stuff now that its under the same roof as daystate, my atomic pistol is superb and with a 2 year warranty, i would like a new genertion contour but i want more shots not less, its the only thing putting me off getting one, they are a hunters rifle not a target gun
