What are you zeroing your .177 at. Is it still 35 yards or have you a trick up the sleeve.
Do you favour the low mounts or high

Re: Zero
I only use mine for hunting - 35m and low mounts.

Re: Zero
my discipline is FT. I zero at 30 yards and have a very high scope to bore distance.

Re: Zero
Mainly HFT so a 6x42 on medium mounts, single zero at 27 yards so if it isn't on the cross hair it's always holdover, none of this near and far zero, holdover/hold under kerfuffle. Works well for me in the field as well.
I shouldn't do as it's everyone to his own but I get really racked off watching someone getting a range chart out for every shot, FFS you've only got to remember between 8 and 45 yards

Re: Zero
Bit of vermin and some plinking, 30 yards for the non FAC and 35 yrds for the FAC. Both with medium mounts.

Couldn't agree more, with all your points. It depends what type of shooting you're doing but for HFT/SARCS style, most people find low or medium mounts are best, but whatever the height of your scope, just go for a distance where, in practice, you don't have any hold-unders (the higher the scope the greater the distance) unless you've got a good reason otherwise. I've never really understood the 'universal' 35 yard zero business: where did it come from in the first place?

Re: Zero
One can suggest / argue many ways for the zero, whatever you feel happy with but, mount height should be calibrated to a comfortable (and repeatable) cheek position on the comb...
