Why would anyone work on a PCP fully charged with air?

What ever happened to common sense,? I`ve stripped and rebuilt my HFT500, first time with a pcp ( with a lot of advice I might add ), I have been ultra cautious even to putting a red sticker on the cylinder if it held a charge whilst out of it`s stock. Still got all me bits intact Regards Gordon.
