Your lucky if you've got quarry to go out after! Round my way its gone past the time for spring decoying of woodies and the rabbits are pretty much none existant! The only plus is that today walking the dog through the farmyard I did see a solitary half grown bunny and hopefully if there is one young 'un around there has to be at least a small breeding population around for later on in the year :) Speaking as a farmer I'm always praying to see the back of rabbit problems but I'll admit when they're not there I do miss the challenge of controlling them ;)

The rabbit numbers are down on the farm I shoot but have noticed lately that there are a lot of young uns running about. Might be worth dropping it for a couple of months. What do you think?

I may be the odd 1 out here but I like to respect the seasons. Unless specificaly asked to do so, I will leave the rabbits alone until after the harvest.
Gives them chance to grow up and be worthwhile Taking them.
All magpies and crows etc are a different kettle of fish, open season all year round.

I didnt get up till 11am :o
I arrived there at 6pm and everything was happening on the farm, and making a right racket  Four rabbits later fell to my 40grn Winchester subs just as it was getting dark at 9pm so it wasnt too bad.
