A few more rats........

Wed Apr 08, 2015 6:11 pm

...this time with a bit of a difference, the first one I found up a tree and the next two had grown wings  All taken around the farmyard this evening, the tree rat was munching on something up a cherry tree about 30 yards away and never so much as twitched after a bisley lrg caught him in the back of the head the winged rats made the mistake of landing on the edge of the grain store roof one at 40 yards and the other at 35 with a pellet in the side of the head for the former and a heart and lung jobbie for the latter :) I also achieved a simple 25 yard head shot on a woody but seeing as how its still stuck in the grain store roof I don't suppose it counts :(

Thanks chaps, now we've opened up the main grain store its starting to attract the ferals so hopefully I should get a fair bit of sport over the coming months :)

One more tree rat today, every time I've passed a particular area of the yard recently I've seen two squirrels as well as seeing the damage to the pheasant feeders (yes I know, don't shoot me down for feeding them  ), yesterday I accounted for one so today I set a trap for the other. I chucked down a handful of peanuts and retired to some cover about 30 yards away and unbelievably only about half an hour later this chap showed up :)
