another 2

Mon Mar 23, 2015 1:21 am

put a bit of bait out last night to check the rat activity, and when i checked 2 hours later, it'd gone :D
baited 4 points tonight that i could cover from franks patio table, made a brew, and gave it an hour.
had a couple of visitors, so not too bad for a short session :D

Something satisfying about ratting isn't there, although have to ask what you are using - explosive tips? ;)
Even at sub 15 yards I haven't been getting that kind of mess!

That first Rat doesn't look dead enough for my liking Steve.
Have you considered either a caliber change (.22 possibly) or a designated Rat busting type pellet.  ;)

the 1st rat is exactly as it met its maker, it just rolled over minus 1/2 its brain, and the big fella i brought over from another bait pile just for the pic.
thing is gordon, i think the .22 would hit them too hard, and using special hunting/rat buster pellets would be too messy ;)
the 1 i shot t'other night (eastern lights) had a neat entry and exit wound, and just a teaspoon full of blood had trickled out of his ear :?

neither can i brian, sometimes you get a neat un, sometimes its an untidy un
i've been reading some ballistic info recently that will open a few eyes among the ''.22 hits harder brigade''
