one of my brothers text me t'other day to say he'd got rats in his barn and stables
been up for a quick look this afternoon and saw 3 in 15 minutes
cant really shoot after dark safely, as he has a huge shire horse thats a bit jumpy at night when its stabled. the horses are out all day, and in a couple of weeks they'll be out all night as well, so the rats will be in for a little surprise
he's got 1/2 a dozen calves, and they'll be stopping out as well. i couldnt help noticing what a good magpie hide their barn would make

You have a few weeks then to bait up. tying them too a brick keeps them in one place for an ambush .
