S510 ultimate Awesome

Sun May 08, 2016 9:25 pm

So in another post I asked for opinions on the Ultimate in.177 for hunting and target shooting.
After due consideration I bought one and a Hawke side winder scope. Yesterday I put about a 100 pellets through it and was so confident with it that I laid out in ambush tonight and took 3 rabbits with it at 35yrds, 3 good clean head shots so I'm well pleased with my new rifle.
And for anyone wondering .22 or .177 the .177 hit so hard the impact of pellet sounded like a hammer and the sound of pellet on bone was louder than the sound of the gun.

I was always of the idea that bigger was better for hunting but I think I was wrong.
I have an S410 carbine in. .22 zeroed at 30yrds and that was the limit of my hunting ability as I couldn't get to grips with range finding and hold over and under.
I've zeroed the .177 at 35yrs and checked the zero right down to 20yrs and the impact point is almost bang on the cross hairs.

Have to say a .22 hobby doing 600+ fps out of an HW80 Knocks rabbits over with no problems, had two yesterday evening at 45yds, good for a pellet that's used for rats and cardboard. Rog

Check even further, both my rifles are zeroed at 35 yards, they both hit a PBR of around half an inch from 14 yards to 38 yards.
.22 is ancient history.
