Hi Folks, I'm having trouble firing/cocking my AA s200 some times it works then some times it wont. This has got worse in the last couple of days. Causing mist shots and worse double pellets in the barrel as I have the multi shot. I have taken it to my nearest Gun shop who are replacing the firing bolt.
Any help would be great.

first thing that springs to my mind is change your gunshop, changing bolts was an excuse to charge you without saying " I have no idea"

That's exactly what I was thinking. Can anyone recommend a good Gun shop in South Wales.

there must be at least half a dozen things you could`ve checked before installing a new bolt, contacting Raj on here should be your first stop though, he knows that rifle upside down & inside out. I have one, but I removed the 10 shot mag & simply single load by hand now, some experienced members on here swear loading by hand is best as you can feel `tight` pellets as you load them this way. I couldn`t be bothered finding & fitting a single shot tray & just got used to it.

Gun Seems to be cocking and firing like a dream again. Just put 40 pellets through it and its back to being dead balls accurate.
They charged me £20. I think they just took it apart and reassembled it, so no new bolt.
The multi shot is still a little sticky however but I will live with it for now.
I enjoy the multi shot feature as the gun is mainly used to control pests on the farm.
I used to use Arthur Bails in Cardiff but he has closed his shop.
Thanks for all the advice.

Good result ... They probably put a turn or two on the trigger weight grub screw No.61 that loads the spring No. 60 that pushes the Trigger Lever No.63 into the striker No.25.
If the spring No.60 is not under enough tension, the rifle wont cock :) Because the trigger weight screw can be touched by your finger even as you are walking around, it could have unwound itself. Not saying this was the exact case but it is highly likely and has been known to happen.
All the part numbers I have quoted can be found on the S200 manual ...... and you will know what to do next time 8-)
The brilliant picture - courtesy of Timinder Trigger Tune guide shows you how the trigger lever is affected by low tension on the spring.

Raj, brilliant explanation. I will be referring back to it in the future.
I have a question for you my trigger is set at the moment as if it is a very light single stage trigger. how can I adjust it so it has 2 very obvious stages. Soft at the start with an increase in trigger tension at stage 2 for the actual firing.
Thank you.
