How to polish the Spring ends

I firstly take a file and grind off the sharp edges at the wire end as they are prown to bite under load into facing material.
Then wet & dry 400 grit on a flat surface will do. Very seldom followed by 600 or 800 grit.

Main purpose is to get rid of the sharp edges. Some smoothened burrs left will be no problem as they act as grease reservoir.
I grease with MoS2-paste only.
