Tx200 MKII running warm (ish) pt.2

Mon Nov 21, 2016 10:49 am

Hi all, I have now fitted a snug rear guide, a light weight top hat and I must say that the shot cycle is very smooth. It is also nicely consistent with AA Fields.

15 shot string AA Fields 5.52
564 11.26
571 11.5
573 11.6
527 9.81
570 11.47
575 11.68
578 11.79
578 11.79
578 11.79
578 11.79
573 11.58
575 11.7
578 11.79
577 11.76
576 11.71

As you can see, the fist half dozen shots were not amazing but it started to settle down well. Although it is still to high for my liking. Now, when I use a lighter pellet (RWS Hobbies) its just tipping over the legal limit.

At the moment it is set up using a slip washer, ptfe tophat (same height as original steel hat) standard AA MK1 spring and a tight ptfe rear guide.

What would you do? Run it without the top hat?

Went ahead and removed the tophat, just keeping a slip washer inside the piston.

The figures are now much nicer and the shot cycle even more controllable. A few shots with the Hobbies came out as:

FPS FTLB
651 11.22
652 11.26
651 11.22
651 11.22

Run half a tin of pellets and then check it. You may need to remove the slip washer.
Looks good to me so far.
