Springer scope. What you all using?

Springer scope. What you all using?

Postby dazzler » Fri Jul 15, 2016 4:56 pm

Hi all,

I know the question is quite vague, as we use our rifles for different things, but...

Whats atop your springers?

I do very little hunting - bit of ratting and squirreling. Mainly plinking but i take pride in hitting what i aim at - a hangover from my army days where i consistently achieved marksman scores on the APWT. I have a MTC Genesis UL 3-9x40 on my Imp, which i like very much and i'm trying out a Nikko Sterling 4-12x50 Panamax on my new ProSport. Dunno how i will like it, we will see.

Sightron 10-50x60 SIII & Sightron 10x42 SIII, FT & HFT.... (and a March 10-60x52 on loan for trial through the summer heat)
Scopes, like anything optical are a really personal thing, we don't all have the same eyes, if what you have works then don't be concerned about others. I never cease to be amazed by folks (not your good self) seeking guidance on forums etc and then buying without trying..., a lot of it seems to be trend / current fashion based.
Hope you like the Panamax, safe shooting and a very good weekend to you.

I would not trust myself with one with the shooting I do.

Nikko Stirling 4-12x50 AO is the most over the top name for the basic scope sitting atop my LGU, never budged from the day it was attached, sighted at 30m, put the croshairs on a target around that range, I`ve yet to find a pellet that doesn`t find the mark at that distance!
pointed milbro`s struggled to hit a 6mm hole at 25m, but, I don`t rate ANY pointed pellets, that`s just me mind

Just put a Leapers 2-7x32 ir on a HW95 .177, from J S Ramsbottom £39.98 with postage, didn't even have to zero it, ok straight out of the box, amazing value, just the job for a springer. Rog
