Yup, the heavier pellet retains more energy at 50m despite the lower muzzle fps. I really like the feel of Express in both my competition TX's but, have failed (despite a lot of time invested) to find a batch/die that will group satisfactorily in any sort of wind beyond 40m.
Until I find the Grail batch/die of Express I am staying with AA Field, the batch I have settled on is excellent and requires no weighing, the consistency & weight spread is simply superb out of the tin (<7 fps spread) which saves a lot of rather tedious time weighing individual pellets, not my idea of fun!.

At the end of the day there is no substitute for testing several options to discover which your individual barrel/s prefer. It's a time consuming and not inexpensive task but, if for e.g. Field Target you are seeking sub 25mm groups at 55yards coupled to predictable drift in the wind then there are no shortcuts!.
Then you have the frustration of securing sufficient supplies of the magic batch / die, as the characteristics tend to change year on year... all good fun ;)
