what is your description of blinged? to myself its adding something of little value, and only for perceived look.

The blinging I intend to do is to paint my stock black and fit brass
screws and maybe a trigger guard ...

Well they do say that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", best of luck with the transformation.

Brass yes, painted stock is just wrong!
Wood is meant to look like wood, if you want something that looks like plastic then buy a rifle to suit.
Please don't do it! ;)

If you like black painted stocks take a look at my MFR in the For Sale section. Will give you an idea of what it can look like. I used PlastiKote spray and was very happy with the results.

Paint works especially well on the walnut stock models. Black paint with a pink stripe would get raves at the next field target match] Use a brush rather than spray to bring out the texture.

The extent of my TX bling is a brass trigger guard. Helps increase the weight a little bit. I also have the cocking aid thingy, but only on guns that had them when I bought them used. I find the cocking aid makes cocking a little harder, for me, rather than easier. I do like a nice aftermarket walnut stock and one of them has these 1" diameter brass screw cups to match the brass guard.
