Sorry, I've only just read this. I don't know what the dog leg is....do you mean the block which the gauge is screwed into? If so, I've removed that but I'm not sure whether to unscrew the gauge from it's block and replace that seal. Thanks, Mal...

I decided to change it in the end. All went well for my first ever service. Thanks for the advice and thank you Julian for the parts.
