S410 Reassembly

Sun Oct 15, 2017 10:09 pm

Hello all, I am a newbie to Air Arms and whilst there are plenty of videos on YouTube showing how to strip down the S400 series, there don't seem to be any showing reassembly (perhaps I'm just not looking hard enough)

I just stripped down a 2nd hand S410 as it was a little low on power. I just went as far as cleaning off the hammer rail (easy enough as the previous owner had removed the AT blanks) the rail was mucky as anything. However on reassembly I've struggled to:
- get the bolt to reliably engage the hammer and cock it
- get the magazine indexing mech to engage with the bolt!
- the action / trigger unit has ended up very very slightly skew to the air cylinder, so the fit to the stock isn't quite right.

Feels like it should be straightforward, but I can't seem to find anything online, your help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards

R

Put in your location, there might be someone near you who can help you with it. Rog

It can be a problem where no dowels or milled locations are provided. All I can suggest is loosen all the bolts, tighten finger tight, realign the parts and check the relevant fit or hammer or mag operation, and then retighten gradually like you would a cylinder head, a tweak at a time checking the fit etc as you go. You may have to strip it all to get to the underneath trigger block screw (s).

Did you get a users handbook with the rifle, if you didn't airarms will send you one, but you will have to send them a stamped addressed envelope 6" x 9" should do it. It will make it easier to identify part numbers so you can be talked through reassembley procedure, they are pretty easy once you know how. Rog

Helpful tip, thank you. Do you think it might be available online? If not I'll send off for one!

Amazing that people sell them on Ebay for £10 and they are probably reprints of the pdf.
