Filling issue on s200

Hi All,

Help needed on my daughters S200, haven’t used it for a while but went to fill it today and the valve didn’t show any movement on the filling bottle, but bleed screw let air out when I uncoupled it.

Thought maybe bottle was empty, so went and filled it at local scuba shop.

On getting Home same problem, connect to rifle on the T bar, open valve and valve doesn’t move?

Any ideas?

Cheers Grouse

did you mean the gauge needle didnt move?

Can you hear air going into the gun?

With the hose not connected to the gun does air flow when you open the valve on the tank?

Yes that’s right, needle didn’t move, air doesn’t seem to be going into gun.

If not attached to gun, air does come out of connector?

Cheers

Logically the gauge is busted and the gun is full. Without a gauge on the S200 cylinder its difficult to prove. Is the gun shooting ok?

I agree with your assumption that the gauge is broken, suppose connecting it to the gun might mean that it could have filled to a higher pressure than 180psi

I will get the cylinder serviced and acces from there.

Had another go today and it’s not as accurate as it has been - seems to go alright then throw pellets 4” away?

Dry fire the rifle until it really drops off, then try refilling

All sorted, the broken fill gauge on tank was the problem. Put another gauge inline and works fine now.

Thanks for the help.

The marble trick ... If you ever need to empty an S200, you dont need to dry fire.
1. Get a glass marble and place it at ground level on a piece of wood or carpet tile ... not something hard and slippery
2. Stand the S200 air cylinder on the marble vertically, so that the firing valve gate (No.37 on the manual) is touching the marble.
3. Gently apply downward pressure while standing over the cylinder. The air will come out in a controlled manner. Job done is seconds without unnecessary wear and tear.

The marble compresses the valve gate against the valve spring but only just ... even if you press it all the way. No fuss. Easy :)
