Either are good for short range or longer range with no wind. They are quite soft so form easily.

thanx for the rapid reply any would the bigger pellet make a difference to the speed eg would air escape past the smaller one like i presume it would if i tried putting a .177 pellet in my .22 ?

1/100 of a millimetre is not going to make that much difference after the probe pushes it up the barrel. A bit like pushing a pellet through a sizer.
Might make a tiny difference in a thumb loaded barrel but not as much as changing makes and weights.

Put a dry patch down the barrel before changing pellet brand, and put as many as you can through it.
Putting a few down and chopping and changing is not conclusive and a waste of time and money.
